Emerging economies are transforming themselves through dramatic investments in higher education and research. This workshop looks at the Canadian experience in establishing and enhancing educational and research partnerships with India and Brazil, the opportunities being created, and lessons that can be learned. In 2010, the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada led a highly successful delegation of Canadian university presidents to India. A record-breaking delegation to Brazil is planned for April 25 to May 4, 2012. Workshop topics include partnership success stories, the role of international students, and the impact of Canada’s excellence in research and quality of life in attracting top researchers and partners.
